American Divas in "The Classic Collection" book

WHO ARE THEY? Well, there is a new series "The Classic Collection", a set of books (under preparation) on the career highlights and memoirs of America's greatest female entertainers, singers and performers that could and would answer this $26 million question. Ilil Arbel, Ph.D., writer and noted personal history biographer, co-author of the collection is the right person to shed light on this issue, because she is writing a few books  (Part of the series) about the most distinguished and accomplished grande dames of music and entertainment in the United States. Arbel said: "This country produced fabulous singers and outstanding female artists. Some, are already in the history book. Their biographies were published, and elaborate documentaries about their lives, career highlights and memorable performances were produced. That's fine. But few memoirs and personal histories are written.

The Classic Collection presents divas from a different angle. It is a new approach to get closer to the persona and world of stars. It has more warmth, more personal touch and above all, the Classic Collection is a direct invitation to know the real artist; it includes personal stories told by the divas we are writing about, jokes, significant moments in their lives, their greatest contributions, interviews and candid chats with them, photos published for the first time, and so many other things that will fascinate the readers and music lovers." But who are those divas? I kept asking Ilil Arbel. "We are still in the process of selecting names, deciding on who  indeed is the best of the best in the business, and then we found out there so many fabulous singers who deserve to be called DIVAS and consequently, they should be included in our books." Arbel would not tell me who are her favorites nor who are those divas who will be written up in her series of books. But she whispered: " Those who will be contacted and asked to collaborate with me on this project are those you might call the divas and most accomplished artists of our time."
